This video takes you through the application of a support sling, one of our training resources designed to help first aiders keep their skills and knowledge up to date.

First Aid kit inventory

Download our example of a basic checklist of items that could be included in a small first aid box. Each working environment should be assessed and have adequate provisions for first aid. Our example is based on the British Standards Institute First Aid Kit for a low risk work environment with less than 25 employees.

Guidance on First Aid for Schools

The Department of Education’s Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (0-5 years) states “at least 1 person who has a current paediatric first aid certificate must be on the premises & available at all times when children are present, & must accompany children on outings. Childminders, & any assistant who might be in sole charge of the children for any period of time, must hold a current paediatric first aid certificate.”

Effective Hand Washing

Hand decontamination, primarily through washing, is recognised as the single most effective way of preventing the spread of infection. However this will only be the case if effective hand washing techniques are employed. This video shows how this can be achieved.
Whilst this video is aimed primarily at those working in the food industry, the techniques used can be applied in other industries, such as care, to ensure effective hand washing.
