Developed by NEBOSH, in conjunction with Great Britain’s Health and Safety Regulator, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), and based on published HSE guidance, the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Manual Handling Risk Assessment provides a sound understanding of manual handling assessment using the HSE manual handling assessment tools.

NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Manual Handling Risk Assessment

This one day course is designed to assist those who want to start assessing manual handling risks in their organisation and implement effective control measures, as well as for those already managing manual handling risk to deepen their understanding of the subject and train in the use of specific HSE manual handling assessment tools.

NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Manual Handling Risk Assessment course content:

  • Reasons to avoid manual handling
  • Common types of injury
  • Evaluating the risk in a proportionate and sensible way
  • Control measures.

Learners are assessed by means of completion of a manual handling assessment case study which identifies a range of hazards and meets best practice standards (“suitable and sufficient”).
