Manual Handling is one of the main causes of workplace injuries reported to the Health and Safety Executive each year. Employers should ensure that employees are provided with manual handling awareness training, giving them knowledge of safe manual handling techniques to reduce the risk of injury.
This course is aimed at employees working in all industries where manual handling activities (lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling) form part of their work activities.
This practical and interactive half day manual handling awareness course covers:
- Common manual handling related injuries, including back injuries
- The Manual Handling Operation Regulations
- The principles of safe manual handling
- Applying these principles to everyday work situations
The course gives attendees the opportunity to practice the safe manual handling techniques taught under the supervision of the trainer and to discuss their application to real life workplace situations.
The course is assessed by means of theory questions and observation of practical activities by the tutor.
