Whilst anxiety is a normal human emotion, it can become a mental health problem when it gets out of control and it can impact on our daily lives. The Mental Health Foundation have selected anxiety as the theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week. Their aim is to increase awareness and understanding of anxiety, including a great section on their website What can I do to cope with feelings of anxiety?

Employers need to ensure they are ensuring so far as is reasonably practicable the safety and health of their employees – this includes mental health. Increasing the knowledge of those responsible for other employees can be one way that employers can improve support for mental health in the workplace.
