NEBOSH recently announced the release of an open book format for their exams which can be taken in learners’ own homes.  In light of the current circumstances, this removes the requirement for learners to attend an invigilated exam at a Learning Partner’s premises thus ensuring the safety of learners and Learning Partner staff whilst still allowing learners to achieve the qualification as assessments will not be disrupted by any changes to lockdown restrictions.

As a NEBOSH gold Learning Partner, we are pleased to announce that our next NEBOSH National General Certificate course starts in September and will be assessed using the open book format. Further details of the training, including dates content, are on the course page.

Learners will have 24 hours to complete the exam and can use reference materials such as their course notes and textbooks to assist them in constructing their answers. NEBOSH have introduced robust procedures to ensure the integrity of their qualifications, such as a post exam interview with a member of the Learning Partner team and examiners checking responses for evidence of plagiarism or collusion. NEBOSH have produced a comprehensive guide for learners regarding the assessment and of course our tutor team will be supporting learners throughout their course to prepare for the new format. NEBOSH’s learner guide and further details can be found here.

We want to reassure our clients and learners that we take everyone’s safety seriously – we have approval from NEBOSH to deliver our National General Certificate courses using Zoom and we have conducted comprehensive risk assessments regarding COVID-19 safe measures for any classroom sessions.
