Studies have shown that use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) on a casualty who is not breathing normally can increase their chance of survival by 50-70%. These portable and life saving devices are now found in a variety of public areas, such as shopping centres and transport hubs, and are becoming increasingly common in workplaces. Training can ensure responders to an incident are able to act confidently and quickly in order to best assist the casualty.

The Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Competent User training course is in-depth  and hands on experience in using AED units. This course is suitable for anyone interested in furthering their first aid skills or who works at a site where an AED has been or is going to be purchased. It may also be useful for those who wish to refresh the skills learnt on previous training.
