Manual handling activities account a significant number of injuries reported the UK each year. Training will not only aid compliance with legislation but also will avoid injuries which lead to lost working days and unnecessary suffering for employees. The Level 2 Award in Safe Moving & Handling is aimed at workers in all industries.
This practical one day course is suitable for anyone who is required to manually handle loads as part of their workplace activities and uses a variety of training methods, including practical work.
The course covers:
- The legal responsibilities of employer and employees
- The principles of ergonomics
- Spinal structure and mechanics
- Principles of load management
- Assessment of risk prior to movement
- The importance of teamwork.
Assessment is by means of short theory and practical elements. Learners who successfully complete the assessment will receive a Level 2 Award in Safe Moving & Handling certificate from the awarding organisation.
This course is offered as an in-house option, to be delivered at times to suit you at your site. Alternatively, we can host a course for you at our Sunderland venue. Please note this option is subject to minimum delegate numbers.
